British Wireless for the Blind

The British Wireless for the Blind Fund provides high quality, easy to use audio equipment which has been specially designed and adapted for listeners living with sight loss.

Calibre Audio Library

Providing the pleasure of reading to people with sight problems, dyslexia or physical disabilities. It is a free nationwide postal service with 19,000 members. There is a choice of 8000 titles.

Guide Dogs for the Blind

Their mission is to provide guide dogs, mobility and other rehabilitation services that meet the needs of blind and partially sighted people.

Macular Society

Nearly 1.5m people in the UK have macular disease. It affects people of all ages. Age-related macular degeneration (AMD) is the most common condition, generally affecting people over 50. A group of rare inherited conditions called juvenile macular dystrophies can affect much younger people, including children.

RNIB National Library Service

They are the largest specialist library in the UK for readers with sight loss.

They aim to provide the same kind of books you would expect to find in your local library (but please note they are not an academic library).

The Talking News Federation (TNF) is made up of over 400 local Talking Newspapers (TNs). This umbrella organisation provides information and contact details for your local Talking Newspaper and supports them in their work.
